Blocked gullies, blamed for much of the flooding in Southwell last summer, could be cleared twice a year instead of once, but some fear it still may not be enough. Southwell Town Council welcomed the recommendation by Nottinghamshire County Council’s flooding (drainage and watercourses) select committee to change its policy.   Read more

Residents in parts of Southwell prepared for the worst as the town went on flood alert in response to this week’s rain.
