Southwell to get ÂŁ720,000 from government for flood defences

Southwell will receive more than ÂŁ700,000 of state funding for flood defences. The Secretary of State for the Environment, Liz Truss, this morning announced in Parliament that ÂŁ720,000 of funding will be heading to the town – but a ÂŁ125,000 local contribution is required for the works to be completed.
