Work has now started to replace the Trash Screen at the corner of Allenby Road and Halam Hill Road. The council are taking away the existing vertical screen and digging out the ditch further to the next manhole which is on the corner of Allenby Road. Flooding fears recede
Blocked gullies, blamed for much of the flooding in Southwell last summer, could be cleared twice a year instead of once, but some fear it still may not be enough. Southwell Town Council welcomed the recommendation by Nottinghamshire County Council’s flooding (drainage and watercourses) select committee to change its policy. Read more
