A dry ditch will be built in Southwell to try to protect homes from flooding. Southwell Town Council agreed to the ditch for Minster Fields, behind Farthingate. It could potentially reduce the risk of flooding for residents of Harvey’s Field.   Read more

Flooding fears recede

Blocked gullies, blamed for much of the flooding in Southwell last summer, could be cleared twice a year instead of once, but some fear it still may not be enough. Southwell Town Council welcomed the recommendation by Nottinghamshire County Council’s flooding (drainage and watercourses) select committee to change its policy.   Read more
