Provisional Dates for District Council and County Council Meetings

Newark and Sherwood District Council and Nottinghamshire County Council are arranging the following meetings about flooding in Southwell: Wednesday, 25th September 2013 Time:  TBC Venue:  The Minster School Saturday, 5th October 2013 Time: 11 am – 3.30 pm drop in day Venue: The Minster School. Dyke could not cope

Heavy rain overwhelming drains and sewers, and the overflowing of the Potwell Dyke were the main contributors to flooding in Southwell in July, according to the results of a survey completed by residents. A dry ditch will be built in Southwell to try to protect homes from flooding. Southwell Town Council agreed to the ditch for Minster Fields, behind Farthingate. It could potentially reduce the risk of flooding for residents of Harvey’s Field.   Read more
