Southwell will receive an additional £250,000 of state funding for flood defences, it has been announced.

Chancellor George Osborne and the Secretary of State for the Environment, Liz Truss, have agreed to give the town the extra money on top of the £720,000 it gave in 2014 to ensure the town’s flood protection scheme can start as soon as possible
