Further concerns have been raised about a project to build 40 homes in Southwell after recent flooding.

The town council’s planning committee renewed its objection to plans to build on land off Halloughton Road, despite amendments to the scheme.

Councillors, who previously said the proposed homes were unsuitable, added strong concerns about the suitability of the site due to potential flooding, to its reasons for objecting.

The revised plans showed a new access off Nottingham Road instead of Hallough-ton Road, but the layout remained the same.

Residents at the meeting explained how the area was impacted by flooding after the heavy rain last month.

They said the Potwell Dyke, which borders the site, breached its banks and would have flooded the proposed homes.
