Residents will have their chance to be part of the solution to flooding issues facing Southwell at a meeting tonight.

Consultants URS have been working alongside Southwell Flood Forum and other organisations to create a flooding model and come up with potential solutions since the town was badly affected heavy rain in July.

Residents are being asked to comment on the model and suggest potential solutions to some of the problems.

Mrs Katy Todd, of the forum, said the results of the flood model were quite shocking.

She said: “It is as if you are looking down on the town and you can watch bits of it fill up over a very short period of time.

“People should see it and be aware of the significance of it.”

Mrs Todd said it was vital to get as much feedback from residents as possible.
