Heavy rainfall last year affected Southwell, with flooding occurring in several homes. During storms, Council Staff assist the flood wardens wherever they can. TheTown’s Environment Committee needs to reissue the Town’s Emergency Plan and
has been working with members of the Flood Forum and other groups to make progress with this. It aims to update the current plan and procedures, to be published later this year so that a suitable response can be mounted in an emergency and appropriately linked into statutory and ‘blue light’ authorities.
