Miscanthus on our streets earlier this year – a concern for our drains

 

After approaching VIAEM about street cleaning during the road closures for the Tour of Britain this year, we have been informed that “There will be two vehicles on site from 6am to cleanse the gullies on the asterisked roads (see below) so all vehicles will need to be removed by then”. It is anticipated that NSDC will also be carrying out street cleaning on this morning.

In order to create the required width for the race, ‘no waiting’ restrictions will be in operation from 8am-4pm throughout the race route – the Southwell roads are listed below. These restrictions will be lifted as soon as possible after all the riders have passed through and all operational activities have been completed.

Parking is available in side streets and in pay and display car parks on Church Street, King Street behind Southwell Library and in Saracen’s Head (free for 2 hours) – you will need to display a ticket. The long-term car park in Southwell Leisure Centre has an unrestricted time limit.
