Fiskerton Tip is a well used Recycling Centre. It has been earmarked for closure to save £100,000.

There are concerns that the inconvenience of driving to a tip further away will result in an increase in fly-tipping rubbish that could end up in our ditches and watercourses causing increased risk of flooding.

This would be extremely disappointing

  1. because the Forum is working very hard with its partners in the Flood Study to find solutions to REDUCE flood risk
  2. Forum volunteers have worked doggedly to clear debris from Potwell Dyke which had accumulated before and during the flooding on 23rd July and that clearance work will continue.

However, they should not be expected to clear debris that is deliberately ‘dumped’ into our natural drainage channels.
