Newark and Sherwood District Council are prepared to consider giving Council Tax breaks of up to 6 months for people who have had to evacuate to temporary accommodation due to flood damage, if they are also paying Council Tax on their temporary accommodation.

In order to apply for a Council Tax break, you need to write to Phil Ward, Council Tax, NSDC, Kelham Hall. The letter needs to show evidence of the damage and works being done, where you are living now and when you are likely to be back. You will also need proof that the right council tax is being paid where you are now living.
