To gain a full picture of how communities were affected in the aftermath of Tuesday 23rd July, 3,000 householders in Southwell and a number of other villages in Newark and Sherwood are being sent a questionnaire to ask them to spell out the problems they experienced.
This will help Newark and Sherwood District Council carry out a Community Impact Assessment to see if any lessons can be learned for the future.
This is being undertaken in partnership with Nottinghamshire County Council, the emergency services and a number of other organisations who have been supporting those affected by the floods.
Council Chief Executive Andrew Muter said: “This has been a traumatic, distressing and frightening experience for those residents affected by the floods. We are working hard to establish the impact on our communities to help us in assisting them to recover from the flooding incident. “If you were flooded or affected we would appreciate your response through completing the Community Impact Questionnaire. This will help us to gather information directly from those affected.”
